Did you know that our driving style has a big impact on fuel economy? And by changing the way we drive improves fuel economy by 37%. Most drivers consume their brakes by 25% more time than they need to. Those who didn’t leave much space between their car and the car in front of them while on the road use their brakes more often. Just brake the right way! You can save a lot by just lifting your foot off the accelerator when approaching a stop sign on the road. And by minimizing the time you spend with the car stopped would gradually save gas.

Here are some of the necessary measures that you can do to improve your gas mileage:

1. Car maintenance. Regular maintenance is one of the most important factors that ensure the longevity of a car. Always inspect the condition of your car by checking the engine oil, the tires and the brakes.

2. Remove heavy items. Less amount of luggage, tools and equipment in your car increases fuel economy.

The fine-looking star of Grey’s Anatomy Patrick Dempsey will once again catch the eyes of ladies from all over the world as he stars in a new E! Television show “True Hollywood Story”. But what will catch the attention of ladies and the rest of the viewers more are the very impressive sports vehicles that are featured in this show. The Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series and the Grand-AM KONI Challenge Series are the awaited sights in this show aside from the famous actor.

True Hollywood Story features the adventure of Dempsey and his active sports teammates in the KONI Challenge and the Rolex Series last September. During the KONI Challenge Grand Sport class, Dempsey became a co-pilot of Rick Skelton. They made a great team effort in diving the No. 54 Hyper Sport Supercuts Mustang GT to reach the finish line and obtain the 13^th place.

Wanna know what’s the fastest of them all? Shelby Supercars must have been so proud as its baby Ultimate Aero Twin Turbo was recently named “Fastest Production Car in the World”. With a 255.85 mph speed, the Shelby Supercars creation made its way to claim this prestigious award. Its speed met the standards of Guinness World Records, proving that it really deserves the applause of every car buff all over the globe.

Sports Car Club of America Sponsors Racing Event to Raise Charity Funds

Here’s one good news that greeted me recently as I did my usual net surfing. Just wanna share it with you.

 

Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) affiliates hosted a racing event meant to raise funds for the Mothers Against Drunk Driving movement. The race was held at the Louisiana State Police Emergency Vehicle Operations Center in Zachary last Labor Day.

SCCA is a state-run association that obtained more than 60,000 members all over the country. It advocates all sorts of motor sports such as rally, road racing, and autocross. It is open to both amateur and professional racers.

 

Isn’t that good enough? Now, we can prove to the world that motor sports aficionados are more than just racers. They actually know how to advocate something worthwhile.

The Ferrari F40

If Porsche broke the ground for six-figure costs in the UK with the 959, it was Ferrari that really sowed the seed of the new crop. For its fortieth anniversary in 1986, Maranello took the wraps off a celebratory car. It was noisy, cramped, harsh and thirsty and it made a Testarossa look like a grandma’s car. It was the F40 and for a while, it would steal the crown of the world’s fastest car.

Lamborghini’s El Diablo

The Lamborghini Diablo, in many ways, enjoys a reputation for distinction in terms of  visual presence. It broadly flows along the same proportions as that of it predecessor, the Countach, which was a breakthrough in automotive design when it first came out. Before this astonishing shape appeared in 1971, bodylines were steadily lowering, making it more and more difficult to blend the cabin area or glass house, elegantly into profile. What the designer Marcello Gandini of Bertone did was to remove any break or interruption between the bonnet line and windscreen for the first time on a production car.

For a great number of years, a Bentley was merely a re-badged Rolls Royce, which was a constant bit of shame. The name once stood for one of the racing greats in the tracks at Le Mans. During the 1980s, however, the Turbo was introduced, adding an electrifying performance to Rolls Royce luxury. In addition, it also attracted the company’s first royal customer in years: Prince Charles. He keeps a Bentley along with his Aston Martin Volante convertible. Further developments led to the production of the first pure Bentley in 1991, after decades.
